I/You have to start somewhere...

...and that is where I am --starting in earnest.  Big as I've been in all of my years and have made some realizations
  • the things I've done in the past to lose weight (total elimination of carbs and going without eating) no longer work
  • real exercise has to happen more than twice a week -- let's be real:  twice a year:)
  • this "weight loss" is not a short term phase I'm going through -- either adopt a new lifestyle or be 5'0" and at least 150 lbs. for life.
Implementation looks like
  • 1500 calories/day (my doctor says women should eat 1200 -- that's been tough)
  • 45 mins. of exercise 5X week.
Trying to keep it short and sweet.  Updates later.

  1. Hey! I am in the same situation. I am 5'8 and I weigh 185 pounds. I have tried to work out three times a week and I have not seen any results. I am shooting for 160 at least. I am going to have to make some drastic changes to my diet. The only fear I have is late night snacking and being tempted to eat socially.
